Being a car concierge is really a pretty awesome job. The best example I can show you: I had a client looking for a specific used Toyota 4Runner. I found THIS 4RUNNER and it was a pretty darn good price. In fact, it was a really good price. I ran the CarFax and here’s THE CARFAX. If you scroll down to 11/24/2025, you will see a Minor Damage Report. Here’s how CarFax defines minor damage: “Minor damage is usually cosmetic, including dents or scratches to the vehicle body.” I show the vehicle to my client and both he and his wife love it. It’s a great price and great miles. I work a deal with the dealership for a $2800 discount and my client is really happy. The next day, I am going to call the dealership and let them know we are buying the 4Runner. Later that night, I decided to check one thing and I’m really happy I checked because what I found completely changed things. HERE’S WHAT I FOUND. Minor damage? Of course, we called off the deal and found a much better 4Runner for my client. All I can say is that I had a feeling something was wrong with the deal. I believe that “best deal” involves more than the price.
